Privacy Policy

At a glance

Nightlife NOW uses only the information needed to operate and protect the service, keep venue information useful, and provide optional privacy-minimized analytics. We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track people across other companies’ apps or websites.

Information needed to operate the app

The app and its service providers may process app and device details, network and security signals, limited technical identifiers, and request diagnostics to deliver maps and venue content, protect endpoints, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable. These essential operations are separate from the optional analytics choice.

When you grant location permission, the app uses your location to show nearby nightlife and center the map. Ordinary nearby discovery does not place your precise coordinates in Nightlife NOW’s optional product-analytics events. You can change location permission in iOS or Android settings.

When a searched city is not yet available, the city name may be sent so the requested market can be evaluated. Suggestions and venue-information reports may contain the venue, city, free text, links, and images that you choose to submit.

Public venue information

We use official venue websites and available public business information to keep venue listings useful. Where authorized, this includes public Facebook Page and Instagram professional-profile information, such as biographies, public post text, publication dates, and source links. We use this information to identify supported venue facts and music genres; a post about one event does not by itself establish a venue's regular music programming.

These source checks run on our servers. They do not require app users to connect a Facebook or Instagram account and do not send app-user searches or precise location to Meta through this acquisition process. We retain relevant source references and verification records to support accuracy, corrections, and review, subject to applicable provider requirements and our retention practices. Photos and media

Community photo contributions may include the selected images, a private contributor identifier created by the app, capture time, and precise location evidence used to confirm that the photos were taken at the venue. Owner media may include gallery photos, promotional posters, menu images, and associated venue or campaign details. Submissions are held privately while automated security, safety, quality, duplicate, relevance, rights, and venue-context checks run.

Public image versions are decoded and re-encoded so unnecessary embedded metadata is not retained for display. Rejected files are scheduled for deletion under bounded retention rules. Approved photos may be displayed for the selected venue until removed, replaced, reported, or revoked. Private evidence and moderation records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, audit, rights disputes, and preventing rejected material from silently reappearing.

Optional app analytics

App versions that offer optional crash reporting ask you to accept the updated privacy choice before sharing Firebase Crashlytics reports. These reports include app version, device and operating-system details, installation and session identifiers, crash timing, and technical stack traces. They help measure crashes among participating sessions. We do not attach your name, email, precise location, venue searches, or account identifier. The SDK can temporarily save reports on the device; declining sharing discards unsent reports, and turning sharing off stops future optional reporting. Earlier app versions may not support this measurement.

Optional analytics are off until you choose Share app analytics. If enabled, Nightlife NOW records privacy-minimized product interactions such as eligible discovery impressions, venue-page opens, saves, My Night additions, map previews, filter-category use, directions, shares, contact actions, menu opens, and promotion views or selections. Events may include random rotating session and event identifiers, app build and platform, canonical city and venue identifiers, and a bound promotion, menu, or area identifier when needed to count that action.

These events do not include precise coordinates, typed search text, contact or payment information, advertising identifiers, or the destination URL that was opened. Optional Firebase Performance diagnostics may process coarse region derived from network information, device and operating-system details, app version, and performance measurements such as startup, network, CPU, and memory behavior.

Venue Pro analytics use aggregate counts to help owners understand interest in their venue pages, menus, and promotions. Small cohorts are suppressed, and the reports do not claim to prove visits, purchases, attendance, or revenue. Analytics do not buy or alter organic ranking.

Your analytics choice

Either choice leaves every Free and Venue Pro feature available. You can change the setting at any time in the app under About & Support → Share app analytics. Turning it off immediately stops new optional collection and clears unsent Nightlife NOW analytics stored on the device. Read the step-by-step Privacy Choices page for more detail.

Retention

Unsent optional analytics remain on the device for no more than seven days and are deleted immediately when analytics are turned off. Accepted raw product events expire after 90 days. Privacy-thresholded daily aggregates used for owner reporting expire after 400 days. Other operational, moderation, consent, billing, security, and legal records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their stated purpose.

Service providers

We use service providers including Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting, database, endpoint protection, and optional performance diagnostics; Google Maps Platform for mapping; Apple for app distribution; and Stripe for Venue Pro billing. Their software may process the technical data needed to provide those services under their own privacy terms and our service arrangements.

The embedded Google Maps SDK separately processes map interactions, a pseudonymous Maps identifier, device and app details, crash and performance data, and network information for map operation and analytics. That SDK-level collection is part of providing the map and is not controlled by Nightlife NOW's optional analytics switch. Stripe processes checkout credentials, billing contacts, transaction details, invoices, tax information, device and network signals, and fraud-prevention data. Nightlife NOW receives payment status, plan, invoice, and limited card details such as brand and last four digits, but not full payment-card numbers.

Access, correction, and deletion

You may request access, correction, removal, revocation, or deletion by following the data-deletion instructions or emailing privacy@getnightlifenow.com. We may need limited information to verify that a request concerns your submission, device-generated claim, or venue authority.

Children

Nightlife NOW is intended for adults and is not intended for or directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
